" DO YOUR BEST TO PRESENT YOURSELF TO GOD AS ONE APPROVED, A WORKER WHO CORRECTLY HANDLES THE WORD OF TRUT."

2 Timothy 2:15

AWANA is an international children’s ministry offered at our church with the goal of reaching boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and empowering them to serve him.

The word AWANA means approved workers are not ashamed and comes from the verse of 2 Timothy 2:15 in English Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.

AWANA is designed to give parents the tools to put God’s word in the hearts of their children and show them how to live. AWANA offers your child to grow spiritually through scripture memorization and a basic understanding of Biblical principles and doctrine. It also teaches teamwork and cooperation among children and strives to improve children’s self-esteem through rewards and recognition.

AWANA is divided into clubs according to the age of the children. At Highland Avenue Baptist Church, we have four
